Barmans Ltd. Charity Donations
Barmans Ltd. has a continual charity pot, which is funded by weekly casual Fridays, and a tuck shop that is doing great things for raising money but bad things for our waistlines! We regularly donate this money to a chosen charity that is either nominated by a member of staff, or a worthy local charity. As well as these regular donations, we also like to join in with events to help raise money for very worthy causes.
We like to make ourselves look a bit silly, and push ourselves in charity events if it helps raise money and awareness of worthy causes. Here are a few of the good causes we've contributed to, and some of the things we've done recently to help raise money.
December 2011 - ACT Addenbrookes
In the Christmas rush, everyone at Barmans Ltd. set aside a few hours of their own time to work in the warehouse helping to pick and pack orders. The total wages owed for the hours worked were donated to the fundraising branch of Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.
The Barmans team helped raise £1,100 which funded a new pump for one of the children's wards at Addenbrooke's, which was recently followed up by a thank you letter proudly displayed in our offices.
A huge thank you to everyone at Barmans for the £1,100 you raised to purchase a volumetric infusion pump for Ward C3 here at Addenbrooke's Hospital. This is a fantastic amount to raise and when we read your letter, we were so touched by the generosity of Barmans' staff and company. Thank you so much for your support.
As you may know, there is a huge need for the brilliant new pumps. Rather than being confined to their beds, children will be able to get out and about and spend time with their family in other parts of the hospital away from the ward. Your gift will help us to meet that need for the new pumps. As one parent of a child on Ward C3 said to us:
"Anything that gives a family like us the chance to just be 'normal' for a while is so important".
Your generosity in supporting this appeal helps give families that chance. So far we had raised enough to purchase 11 new pumps for the ward. Thank you for playing an important part in ensuring that your local hospital remains at the forefront of world-class care, offering patients here a level of care over and above what is achievable with NHS funding alone.
