Cider

Glossary of Terms

Cider (sometimes spelt cyder) is made from fermented apple juice (at least 35%) to produce an alcoholic beverage, typically ranging from 2% to 8.5% ABV. England is the largest producer and consumer of cider, with many popular varieties produced in South West England. Cider made with pears is known as perry, while many popular cider brands have produced sweeter, flavoured ciders. Popular cider brands include Bulmers Cider, Magners Cider, Gaymers Cider and Aspalls Cyder.
