A half yard of ale glass is a half sized version of the yard of ale glass, which is used in a traditional pub game where the contestant has to drink beer from the yard as quickly as possible. Made from plastic or glass, a half yard of ale is also popular in party or pub drinking contests, but may also be used to serve cocktails.
