Polyethylene (PE), also spelt polythene, is a type of thermoplastic polymer and is the most common variety of plastic. Polyethylene comes in various densities and is commonly used in reusable drinkware and other items. High-density polyethylene is identified by the number 2, while low-density polyethylene is identified by the number 4 in the resin identification code.
