Rye Whiskey

Glossary of Terms

Rye Whiskey is a type of alcoholic beverage that is made is America and must be distilled from at least 51% rye. It is produced from a mash of rye and other ingredients, then distilled to more than 80% ABV and then aged to less than 62.5% ABV. Canadian whiskey is also historically named rye whiskey but does not include any rye in its production process.
