Vodka

Glossary of Terms

Vodka is a type of clear spirit with a non-distinct flavour and aroma. It is made by the distillation of fermented potatoes or grain and is then filtered through charcoal for an even more neutral product. The most popular vodka brands are produced in Russia and Poland and typically have a 40% ABV. Vodka is drunk neat in many eastern European countries and is a popular ingredient in cocktails such as the Bloody Mary, screwdriver and White Russian.
