Glossary of Terms
A wine rack is a frame with holes to store 75cl bottles of wine. Most wine racks are designed to store bottles on their side so that the cork doesn't dry out and ingress oxygen which spoils the wine. This is less important for screw cap wines. Domestic wine racks tend to be decorative pieces and will hold 4-10 bottles on average. Bespoke wine racks are commonly used simply for storage in wine cellars, wine makers and wine bars and are usually custom made to accommodate the required number of bottles.
