The Biopac range of biodegradable disposable tumblers are set to make a significant difference in the amount of landfill waste that is produced from catered events, as an environmentally responsible alternative to plastic.
100% Compostable
Made from polylactic acid (PLA) which is derived from corn starch, instead of the usual petrochemicals which formulate plastic, Biopac glasses are fully compostable and perfect for outdoor events.
Carry the CE mark
Biopac glasses are the first disposable tumblers in the UK to carry the CE mark. The CE marking certifies that a product has met rigorous EU health, safety, and environmental requirements, which ensure consumer safety. It also means that unlike ordinary disposables, bartenders do not need to use measured beer pumps and licensed premises can comply with the 2006 Measuring Instruments Directive (MID).
'Smash-proof'
The nature of the materials used in these glasses means that they are totally 'smash-proof' and don't splinter, meaning they cannot conceivably be used as weapons and therefore cannot be harmful around small children or through excessive alcohol indulgence!
Used at top sporting venues

Ban the Plastic 
"First saw the biodegradable pint glasses in use by Marstons at the Cardiff test match. I thought they were a brilliant idea so I have now bought them for use at home BBQ's etc for which they are great, and not overly expensive. I'm now interested to see how quickly they degrade in my composter. Supplier service and contact was great - goods arrived 2 days after order placed."

Drinkstuff says: Thank you for your comments Brian. The Biopac pint glasses are made from cornstarch. This is a biodegradable material which breaks down under composting conditions within a given time scale. This compostable product can break down in as little as 12 weeks in the right environment!
"CAREFUL - they shrivel up and leak when you pout hot liquid in them!!!

Unfortunately there are no disposable glasses produced which are suitable for hot liquid, even standard plastic will be 'softened' by hot water. For hot liquid you would need to use reusable plastic glasses or polystyrene cups. "
