Everyone remembers those long hot childhood days when you'd grab your bike, knock on your mates door and grab an ice cold slushie on the way to the park. Now you can recreate those childhood memories in your own home with this fun Retro Slush Machine.

Looking like something straight out of an American 1950s kitchen or diner, the Retro Slush Machine will sit on your kitchen worktop and allow you to make vibrant coloured slushies whenever the mood takes you. Follow recipe ideas or go wild and create your own concoctions using fruit juice, syrup, squash or flavourings.

Simple to use, just pour your ice cubes and a small amount of water into the central cylinder, before adding your flavoured drink to the outer container. Now sit back and watch as the Retro Slush Machine turns your drink into slushie goodness. The easy pour spout allows you to serve straight into your glass.

Ideal for indoors and outdoors entertaining, it will provide refreshing cool drinks throughout the year. So whether you're holding a BBQ, family gathering or party, it will be a big hit with children and adults alike.

• Drinks with a high sugar or corn syrup base will crystallize faster and produce a thicker slush than those with milk or lower sugar content. Carbonated drinks will set up slower and will not be as thick.
• Where possible, let carbonated drinks lose their fizz for quicker results
• Pre-chilling the liquid will quicken the slush making process
• Still or carbonated diet or sugar free drinks will not slush
• Alcohol does not freeze, which is why you will need to add it afterwards
• If the slush hasn't formed within 40mins then the drink probably isn't suitable for freezing

Customer Reviews
Great For Adults Too
"I bought this for my daughter but have to say I feel like the bloke from the secret lemonade drinker advert (only over 40s will sadly know what I'm on about) constantly find myself making drinks late at night from bubblegum flavour to blue raspberry. One tip is look around on google for syrup suppliers who offer 330ml samples for about £3. They also offer 5 litres for about £10, so work out what you like then buy the big one. They claim a ratio of 1 to 6, I say it's more like 1 to 10 of the syrup and still tastes good. Some syrups contain a large amount of fruit juice so choose carefully. The slush machine itself is fantastic, does what it says on the tin. Always leave 1 inch at the top free where you fill the ice otherwise it spill into the juice and I can confirm salt flavoured blue raspberry is not something I can recommend. Very easy to clean and looks cool too. Go on and treat yourself :-)"

Slush Maker The Bees Knees!
"I came across this slush machine on another site(!) and wanted it straight away! I was given an ice maker as a Xmas gift, and so decided my gift to myself was gonna be this. Three happy kids!
drinkstuff was the cheapest online - and as I have used the site before I had no hesitation in ordering.
The machine works just as described, although with a family of five, it isn't quite big enough for everyone to have a slush in one go.
The drinks HAVE to be quite sugary, or the ice just builds up on the outside of the canister. It's trial and error, but it's good fun having a go. Lemonade and coke work pretty well, and I also got some slush syrup - quite expensive, but just like the drinks bought from a van or cafe!
On the plus side it looks great and matches my red kitchen!!
If you are a big kid like me, and you like slush it's definitely worth a bash!
Energy drinks and tonic slush great for adding the alcohol to!"

Pleased As Punch
"Ordered the slushi maker, delivered before stated. Wrapped for Xmas for my daughter. Xmas day opened and her face lit up. Excellent product, does what it says on the tin. I wasn't sure of the slush syrup I purchased, and after sending an email to drinkstuff with a very speedy reply, and very helpful, put my mind at rest. The machine works wonderfully, makes perfect shop slushi in no time, brilliant, all our thanks to a top company. I will be using again and recommend you to all I know. Thanks again."

"Very good machine, makes wonderful slushies. Have previously used cheap machines and none of them have ever worked, this works brilliantly and at an amazing price. Great looking machine and very easy to clean. Highly recommend."

"Love it, so easy to use and very easy to clean."

Fabulous Retro Slush Maker
"I ordered this Retro Slush Maker for Xmas however the terrible weather stopped it being delivered however Drinkstuff did a fantastic job, kept me updated all the way through so although a little disappointed I never got it for Xmas I have it now and I'm more than happy. If every company had the customer service skills of Drinkstuff then there'd be a lot less disgruntled customers in the world.
For anyone about to buy this Retro Slush Maker, don't hesitate, it's fab!
Very easy to use and makes slushes to die for. I used just Vimto cordial to make my slush and it's delicious, I'll be trying out a variety of different flavours in the coming weeks and can't wait for the long hot summer (yeh right!) to try out the alcoholic slushes I have in mind.
I cannot rate this high enough, both the slush machine and Drinkstuff are outstanding and I'll defo be back to buy more of your brilliant items. Keep up the good work you do.

4 stars
"My daughter had this for Christmas as she loves slush. Easy to use, but does need a supply of ice and large amount of salt, 5tbsp for each go. It will only work with sugary fluids, cannot use diet cordial or pop, but makes slush with good consistency within about 5 mins. Machine looks good, which is good as it is rather large, so is kept out on work top. It is very noisy when in use.
Was delayed by snow, but kept up to date regularly and delivered to alternate address right in the middle of the specified delivery time window of 1hr, excellent service. Thank you."
Elizabeth Stokes - Cheshire, 27th January '11
"I decided to buy this for my girlfriend for Christmas as she loves slushies. We thought that it might end up like a slush machine from Argos back in the 80s, but at the first attempt we were enjoying slush fun! The only thing I will say the lid is very tricky to remove!"
Chris White - Redcar, Teesside, 26th January '11

Retro Slush Maker
"Excellent machine, looks good and works even better."
Steven Dennis - United Kingdom, 25th January '11

"The item works wonderfully, and was well received - when it finally arrived (delivery was pushed back due to the snow). The constant emailing with different dates to expect delivery were really rather annoying.

The item works well, looks great and isn't as space consuming as you might think."
Amy - West Midlands, 24th January '11
Drinkstuff says: We're sorry that you were annoyed by the emails Amy. We had been let down by the bad weather and had a lot of delays, so we wanted to keep our customers as up to date as possible rather than keeping you all in the dark.
Retro Slush
"It's good fun, but on the noisy side."
Elizabeth Ross - Edinburgh, 24th January '11
"Simply brilliant! Very clever little machine, makes 2 large drinks per mix and makes them to shop bought standard. We have used Coke and fruit twist Fanta and had good results with both, although you need to be patient and give it 15 minutes plus or it won't be ready.
Easy to clean and very easy to use if you follow the instructions. Basically, you add salt and ice to the aluminum bowl in the centre of the maker then add a sugar based drink to the outer container and that's it...... genius! At no stage does the ice or salt come into contact with the drink so no need to panic about future heart conditions;-)"
The Bleach - Norwich, Norfolk, 24th January '11
"SUPERB - makes proper slush drinks! Easy to use (a bit noisy, but not a problem) and easy to clean. The Retro Slush machine looks good and we would definitely recommend - well worth the money!"
Mr S G Wilson - Bar Hill, Cambridge, 24th January '11

"Received my Slush Maker. Works absolutely fine and would recommend to anyone who wants to make domestic slush drinks! I like that you can use a lot of different types of mixes and drinks! It does make about the same noise as a blender! But what can you expect from a domestic slushy machine?"
Arthur - Kent, 19th January '11
Everyone Needs One Of These!
"A real hit in our house. It was worth the wait! Alcoholic grown up slushes, so easy to make! A really easy to use and clean slush maker, looks great too! Had people queuing up for cheeky Vimto slushes amongst others! Roll on summer barbecues."
Andrea Mosedale - Manchester, 15th January '11
Very Good
"The Retro Slush Machine really does make proper slush drinks, as good as slush puppies, or Fanta Frozen.

The ice cubes & salt are separate in the middle chamber (only used to freeze your drink: which is in the outer chamber). The slush machine freezes & mixes your chosen (sugary) drink, making it into thousands of very tiny crystals/granules. The Maximum Fill line is approximately 750ml, (a large slush drink from the cinema is 500ml), so this machine makes 1 & a bit large sized drinks, or 2 regular sized drinks.

You can dispense the slush early for a wetter/thinner textured slush drink, or you can wait until it's fully done (dryer/thicker texture). You'll want to experiment with different sugary drinks to find out which drinks slush best, It's a good idea to refrigerate your drinks first, & to flatten carbonated drinks, to make better slush, & faster.

I found that "Copella - Apple & Raspberry, or Apple & Mango" juice worked great to make a thick slush. Official Coca-Cola (flattened) worked great too (very thick), & was done fastest of all the drinks that I have tried so far (just 10 minutes).

Cleanup is quite easy, but the aluminium chamber needs to be rinsed immediately after the slush is done, to remove the water & salt.

Overall I'm very pleased with this product, because it makes slush that's as good as Fanta Frozen from Cineworld, & that's why I bought it. Also when you consider that the only other genuine slush machines cost hundreds, or even thousands of pounds, this machine is a fantastic bargain."

Slushed In Time
"The Slush Machine is not only a talking point and novel in appearance, it works as good as it looks and with the hot weather that we are enjoying at present, it arrived just, or should I say Slushed lol, in time."
Rae - Norfolk, 22nd May '10
"When I bought this at Christmas I was worried that it was going to be a 'posh' version of the Mr Frosty machines most of us had when we were kids - where you spent ages trying to grind the ice, and by the time you'd actually got it in small enough pieces, it'd melted. Well I was wrong. This machine is excellent.

The ice you put into the machine never actually comes into contact with the drink, it just acts as a freezing agent. The spinning aluminium cylinder (which houses the ice) in the centre of the machine causes the liquid in the outer chamber to freeze into a 'slush puppy' within 20-30 mins.

The only issue I have with the machine is that the amount of drink you can put in will only make about 2/3 (decent sized) slush puppies. If you want to make more you have to empty out the inner chamber and start from scratch. It is only a 2 second job to set it up again but means you have to wait another 20-30 mins for the next round of drinks to be ready.

I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who is a fan of slush puppies and it will undoubtedly be a big hit during those summer BBQs!"

Soda Stream Mixes
"Can you use the Soda Stream mixes as the 'syrups'?"
Scott - Bedford, 30th December '09
Drinkstuff says: Hi Scott, yes it's absolutely fine to use the SodaStream mixers to flavour your slushy!
