The Ultimate Pint Glass has spent the past couple of years in development after the UK government commissioned the Design Council to work in conjunction with international glassware manufacturer, Arcoroc, to help reduce the rise in alcohol related glass crimes.

The Ultimate Pint Glass has seen a revolution in the glassware tempering process to offer a drinking glass that is up to 5 times stronger than normal annealed glass. Using a new manufacturing technique called Profile Plus, the Ultimate Pint Glass features Stress Fracture Management which gives a far greater resistance to mechanical and thermal shock.No longer will you hear the cheer as a pint glass accidentally breaks in the pub; the Ultimate Pint Glass can withstand dropping from a table, helping it last 10 to 15 times longer than other glassware. When these glasses finally break, the entire glass shatters into small, blunt fragments rendering the glass useless as a weapon.With this new innovation in glassware, Arcoroc and the Design Council hope to reduce the alarming numbers surrounding glass related violence, and reduce the £2.7bn cost to the NHS every year.
