The optional CO2 Canister Pressurising System is an alternative to using the in-built Air Pressurising System. It involves the same process, but is much quicker at pressurising the keg, allowing instant use of the Wunderbar.
The optional CO2 Canister is for use with un-pressurised kegs and the supplied Wunderbar Univat keg. If the keg has no pressure, there is no way for the drink to travel out of the tap. The CO2 Canister applies pressure to the keg, so is not needed with a pressurised keg.

| THINGS YOU WILL NEED: | |
![]() |
• A non-pressurised keg (not supplied, 4ltr to 6ltr), or the supplied Wunderbar Univat keg
• The CO2 canister and valve • The CO2 canister holder & cover • Air Hose • Tap Hose • Adapter (see guide supplied with the Wunderbar for appropriate adapter) |
|
Please Note: For the purposes of this example we are using the Wunderbar Univat keg supplied with the unit and its matching adapter - whichever keg and appropriate adapter you use utilises the same principle.
Please Note: The CO2 canister is only required with a non-pressurised keg. The pressure applied with the CO2 canister allows the beer to flow easily out of the tap. |
|
| STEP 1: | |

Screw the valve to the CO2 canister - not too tight.
Similar to when you screw on a pump to a car or bicycle tyre you will hear some gas leakage - screw the valve on to the CO2 canister quickly until the leaking stops. |
| STEP 2: | |

Place the CO2 canister in the holder and put the cover over the top to neatly seal the canister inside. |
| STEP 3: | |
![]() |
Simply slot the CO2 unit onto the back of the Wunderbar - it will easily fit and the release catch will clip on to the CO2 nozzle to hold it in place. |
| STEP 4: | |
![]() |
Attach the appropriate adapter to your keg (see guide supplied with the Wunderbar) and set the control knob to 'CLOSE'. |
|
Please Note: For the purposes of this example we are using the Wunderbar Univat keg supplied with the unit and its matching adapter - whichever keg and appropriate adapter you use utilises the same principle.
|
|
| STEP 5: | |
![]() |
Place the full keg in the Wunderbar.
Attach the Air Hose to the CO2 connection on the Wunderbar and the 'AIR IN' connection on the keg adapter. |
|
Please Note: If you are using the Wunderbar Univat keg, make sure to fill it before you attach the adapter.
|
|
| STEP 6: | |
![]() |
Attach the Tap Hose to the 'BEER OUT' connection of the keg adapter.
Feed the Tap Hose through the Wunderbar tap with the lever in the open/down position. When the locking block is in place release the lever into the closed/up position. Set the control knob on the keg adapter to 'OPEN' |
|
Please Note: You will probably need to cut the tap hose to length so it does not protrude out of the tap.
|
|
| STEP 7: | |
![]() |
Set the air ON/OFF switch to 'OFF' and shut the lid of the Wunderbar |
| STEP 8: | |
![]() |
Turn the CO2 valve until the needle reaches around 1 Bar (black markings), you will hear some gas rush into the keg.
As soon as the needle reaches the desired measure (1 Bar) immediately turn the valve off again. The CO2 should only be pumped into the keg for a few seconds; literally the time it takes to turn the valve on and off is enough. |
|
Please Note: Do not leave the CO2 canister on, this is unnecessary and will severely reduce the life of the canister.
|
