Annealed Glass

Glossary of Terms

An annealed glass is a piece of glassware which has been strengthened using the annealing process which relieves the internal stresses after it was formed. This process involves heating the glass until it reaches a stress-relief point, then heat-soaked for an even temperature, then slowly cooled at a predetermined rate until the temperature is below the strain point.
