Glossary of Terms

A Jeroboam bottle refers to two different size bottles in different French regions; a smaller 3 litre bottle, the equivalent of 4 bottles used for sparkling wines, and the larger 4.5 litre bottle, the equivalent of 6 bottles which is used for still wines. The name Jeroboam comes from the founder and first king of Israel (930-910 BC).
