Pitter
Glossary of Terms
A pitter is a handheld tool which is used to remove the pit (or stone) from a soft flesh fruit, such as a cherry or olive. The basic design of a pitter (or stoner) involves pushing a retractable plunger through the fruit so the pit is pushed out the other side. Larger fruits such as mangos have specially designed pitters which remove the pit the fruit while slicing it in half.
