Rickey

Glossary of Terms

Rickey is a type of cocktail made with gin, lime juice and club soda, and is served on the rocks in an old fashioned tumbler. It is similar to a Collins or Fizz cocktail and was named after a patron in an American restaurant in the 1890s. Modern variations of the Rickey includes muddling half a lime with sugar, adding grenadine and using other spirits such as rum, bourbon or apricot liqueur instead of gin.
