A zester (usually referred to as a citrus zester or lemon zester) is a type of metal grater which is designed to zest the skin of citrus fruits such as lemons, limes and oranges, which is used as an ingredient or garnish in food and drinks. Different styles of zesters produce either fine, short piece of zest or longer, thicker strips of zest.
