Accounts Apprentice

To join our Accounts team assisting in all areas of the finance department. The person will need to be highly motivated and eager to learn, with a willingness to help and be hardworking with a positive attitude.

Job Description:

  • Matching Invoices to Purchase Orders
  • Identifying and resolving queries
  • Posting Invoices to the accounting system
  • Sales Ledger, matching payments and reconciliation of accounts
  • Dealing with customer and account queries
  • Assisting with Credit Control
  • Assisting with VAT Returns, EC Sales Lists and Intrastat reports
  • Assist and support the finance team to complete ad-hoc projects to improve systems, processes, and month end procedures
  • Filing and other accounts office duties

Qualifications Required:

  • GCSE Maths Level 4 (grade C) or above
  • GCSE English Level 4 (grade C) or above

Skills Required:

  • Microsoft Office particularly Excel
  • Can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Attention to Detail
  • Organisation

Future Prospects:

Once the apprenticeship has been successfully completed, the candidate will be considered for an Accounts Assistant position within Drinkstuff.

Training Provided

The learner will be taught all relevant underpinning knowledge relating to the Assistant Accountant Level 3 apprenticeship. This training will take place once a week at North Hertfordshire College in Stevenage. This is about a 25 minute drive from the workplace.

Additional Information

Located in a village, main access would be by own transport. There is a train station, but it is in the next village and is approximately a 1.4-mile walk (approx. 25-30 mins).

Permanent Full time (40 hrs) Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm
Wages per week: £192.00
Location: Melbourn (SG8)
