QA Software Tester

Full Time (40 hours)

Location: Melbourn, Hertfordshire

Job Summary

Due to business growth, we need to extend our in-house Development Team. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated tester to join us. Due to the nature of testing, this role will involve working part remotely and partly based at our head office. Therefore, the candidate will need to be within a reasonable commute from our head office in South Cambridgeshire. The ideal candidate will have a solid grasp of QA fundamentals and a high capacity for lateral thinking. This will be the first exclusively QA position in our team. Responsibility will include the initial setup of this role, to outline the types and levels of testing required, working to a suite of automated test tools. This position will include a combination of both manual and automated testing.

We currently have a CI:CD pipeline build on TeamCity in-house, so any experience with this would be helpful. Moving forwards, QA is a critical part of our development plans.

Main Responsibilities
  • Analysing user stories and requirements for validity and feasibility.
  • Execute all levels of testing (System, Integration, and Regression).
  • Design and develop automation scripts when needed.
  • Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies.
  • Provide timely solutions.
  • Apply quality engineering principals throughout the Agile product lifecycle.
  • Provide support and documentation.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments.
Experience, Key Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with CI/CD protocol tools TeamCity or GitHub
  • Automation capabilities desirable, especially with Selenium.
  • Knowledge of Scrum/Agile
  • White box testing capabilities
  • Experience with a mixture of Functional and Non-Functional Testing (performance, Load, Volume etc)
  • Highly skilled in scripting and documentation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
