From elegant drink garnishes like dried rose petals to fun additions like popping candy, the right garnish will be sure add a special touch to any drink.

What Types of Cocktail Garnishes Are Available?

For many drinks, a fruit garnish is a great addition – pre-prepared fruit garnishes like lemon slices or limes are ideal and make preparing drinks much quicker. For drinks like margaritas that require sugar or salt to be added to the rim of the glass, you can have fun with coloured options like yellow salt or flavoured sugars. If you’re making a cream or chocolate-based drink, whether it’s a cocktail, a mocktail or a milkshake, you can also have fun with more unique garnishes like popping candy or edible gold leaf.

How To Use Cocktail Garnishes

Drinks garnishes can be used on a range of drinks, from adding decorative flair to a martini, to creating a more professional finish to fruit-based drinks like a pina colada. While garnishes aren’t an essential ingredient to the recipe, they make your drinks look far more elegant and give each beverage a unique edge. They not only add aesthetic appeal, but can also enhance the flavour.

Cocktail garnishes can either be placed on the top of a drink, attached to the rim of a glass, or inserted into the drink on a cocktail stick, such as with olives or cherries.
