This year, our Valentine's Cocktails fall under our DRINKSfusion theme. The simple art of combining 2 or more different flavour syrups together to create one new flavour. This makes it super easy for a Bar to make and serve more complex drinks.

The 4 flavour combinations we've chosen;

  • Strawberry & Rose
  • Strawberry & Hibiscus Spice
  • Passion Fruit & Raspberry
  • Passion Fruit, Peach & Cinnamon

And then we've created 2 Cocktails for each flavour combination.

These recipes are purely for inspiration. The ratios are for guidance only. You may find that a simple 1:1 blend suits you better than a 3:1 blend. But that is the fun for DRINKSfusion, there is loads of potential to play about with these recipes, let alone creating your own.

STRAWBERRY & ROSE

To make this first Valentine's blend, we opted for a 2:1 ratio of Monin Strawberry Syrup and Monin Rose Syrup. We feel that a 1:1 blend is too strong of Rose. However, have a play about. Some of you may opt for a 1:1, others 3:1. There is no right or wrong.

STRAWBERRY & HIBISCUS SPICE

This blend is slightly more complex and combines 3 of our favourite Syrups from Monin. Strawberry, Hibiscus and Winter Spice Syrup. The Winter Spice is a lovely blend of Chilli, Vanilla, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Clove and Ginger. And we've opted for a 5:5:2 ratio as you only need a little Winter Spice for it to shine through.

Take it Sloe & Steady

Valentines in Polynesia

Glass; Tiki Glass

  • 50ml White Overproof Jamaican Rum

  • 2 Dashes Angostura Bitters

Garnish; Dried Hibiscus, Sprig of Mint & Frona Dried Lime

PASSION FRUIT & RASPBERRY

Mixing Passion Fruit and Raspberry together is divine. They can create some fantastic tasting drinks. The easiest way to blend this fusion together would be a simple 1:1 blend. There would be nothing wrong with that. But we've opted for a 2:1 blend instead. These are 2 really vibrant flavours, but we feel slightly more Passion Fruit is needed.

Passionate Kiss

PASSION FRUIT, PEACH & CINNAMON

The combination of Peach & Passion Fruit works really well and, in our opinion, should be used a lot more in drinks. We first tried it in a Snowball variation before Christmas, but it works well in other applications, too. However, to take this to the next level, try adding some Cinnamon to the blend. That little touch of spice works like a dream. To make this blend, we've used the following;

Valentines Cheesecake

Double Old Fashioned Glass

  • 50ml Amaretto
  • 15ml Limoncello
  • 20ml Peach, Passion Fruit & Cinnamon Syrup
  • 50ml Cream

Garnish; Biscotti Crumbled & Frona Passion Fruit

Passionate Punch

Sling Glass

  • 50ml Gordons Tropical Gin
  • 15ml ODK Lime Juice
  • 20ml Peach, Passion Fruit & Cinnamon Syrup
  • 50ml Pineapple Juice

Frona Passion Fruit, Frona Pineapple & a Mint Sprig
