Good And Useful
"Very good item, just wasn't expecting the amount of force you have to apply to get a good zest.
But once you're used to it, you manage to get perfect orange or lemon twists :)"

The Perfect Zester
"I work in (and have worked for) a variety of bars and one of the things that I often find is that the majority of zesters are quite simply rubbish!
No need to worry with this one though, you will be making citrus spirals quicker than you can say "I am going to make a citrus spiral" - thoroughly recommended."

As good as the person using it, though could be sharper.
"First impressions when you look at the tool are good when you consider it's made out of stainless steel and actually quite tough, so at least it ain't breaking any time soon.
Not sure the hoop is essential as much as hooks on the wall are handy if you want to hang equipment, a lot of other tools, including cocktail tools don't have the luxury of fitting well on them.
As the photo shows I've been practising on an orange to see how good the blades are.
Spiral/Twist Blade: - it digs in quite well to the fruit and cuts fine, however you get to a couple of inches and then usually the twist breaks off. I managed to do one long one, but that was after a few attempts. I believe it can actually do decent lengths, but it will take some mastering by the person using it. Some fruits may even work better than others.
Zest Blades: - These are a bit weird. There are 5 hoops where the blades are underneath but you'll find that only one or two of them actually cut. Whether that's just the design or perhaps I have a slightly blunt one, but I find the two right holes cut, where as the other 3 don't and mainly it's the second from right hole that cuts. I've tried focusing the blade on the other holes, but you don't get a cut with them. This isn't a huge issue though as with zest you only need a few sprinkles anyway and as long as something cuts you've got a result, though if something has 5 blades you expect all 5 blades to work!
In conclusion it's a handy tool and will cater for what I need, but I would say it's certainly not a pick-up-and-play item. It will take practice to get a decent twirly piece. However I still maintain the zest blades could be sharper, but then it's an item that costs £ and certainly is better than trying to use an actual knife!"

"The citrus zester is a handy tool for creating twists, and other decorative peel designs to garnish drinks with. It's a sturdy 'does what it says on the tin' product."
