Our Top 10 Cocktail Recipes of 2017

So here we have it the end of 2017. Like every year there were highs and lows, good and bad points. This isn't a Buzzfeed article so I'm not going to go into that. What I am going to talk about is our Top 10 Cocktail Recipes of 2017!

Ok, so what will they be?! Will they be classic cocktails that have seen a revival? Are they cocktails that are sure to get a party started? Or will they be cocktails that make you look more refined? Well, stay with us as I count down our top 10 cocktails of 2017.

Top 10 Cocktail Recipes of 2017
10. Gingerbread & Espresso Martini Recipe

In 10th place, we have the Gingerbread and Espresso Martini! A seasonal favourite, this cocktail is one of many popular coffee cocktails. I particularly love the gingerbread man garnish. Especially if you manage to get funny looking ones like we did.

9. Hot Gin Punch

In 9th place, we have another seasonal cocktail and this one is part of the titan that is the gin trend, the Hot Gin Punch. Based on a Victorian recipe this punch is a great alternative to pulled wine or mulled cider. We think it's particularly great for getting you through January.

8. Santa Claus-Mopolitan

In at 8, we have the ultimate Christmas Day cocktail, the Santa Claus-Mopolitan! A riff on the classic cosmopolitan we think this cocktail can really be drunk all year round. The candy cane just makes it look Christmassy!

7. Paper Plane

How to make a paper plane cocktail

At 7 we have the Last Word riff, the Paper Plane. An easy to remember and easy to make cocktail, this drink is surely a modern classic. Found in cocktail menus all over the world, this cocktail isn't for the faint-hearted. We think the mini paper plane for garnish makes it.

6. Key West Cooler

Key West Cooler Recipe

In at 6 we have, what I think is a bit of a curveball, the Key West Cooler! So this cocktail is one of those 80's cocktails that seems to be coming back. When you google it there seems to be a huge range of different recipes, but we love the layered version. The layers of colour just make it that bit more fun!

5. Enchanted Unitail

How to make an Enchanted Unitail the Unicorn Cocktail

In 5th place, we have the Enchanted Unitail or the unicorn cocktail. So unless you've been living under a rock this year you will know that unicorns have literally been everywhere. And this recipe was a silly take on that trend, but I guess it's more popular than I thought it was!

4. Spider-Man Cocktail

How To Make A Spiderman Cocktail

In at 4th is the Spider-Man Cocktail! Maybe it was Spider-Man's reunion with the Avengers that made this cocktail popular, or it could have been the new Spider-Man film, but either way, it was a big hit this year. We'd recommend removing the silly string before drinking of course.

3. Hedgerow Royale

In third place, we have the Hedgerow Royale. This cocktail combines sloe gin, cherry brandy and prosecco for a wicked sparkling cocktail! This has got to be one of my own personal favoruites from this year, and it's the perfect cocktail for new years eve!

2. Mulled Cranberry Gin

Mulled Cranberry Gin

Just missing out on the top spot, our 2nd best cocktail recipe this year is the Mulled Cranberry Gin. Similar to the Hot Gin Punch, this spiced cranberry gin punch is the perfect winter cocktail. We think with gin so popular, this could knock mulled wine off the winter drink top spot!

1. Porn Star Martini

And there you have it, our top cocktail recipe from 2017, the Porn Star Martini! Quite literally blowing the competition out of the window, the porn star martini is our most popular cocktail recipe of 2017. I have to admit it is one of my personal favourites, and that shot of prosecco is a versatile addition to the drink.

What will be popular next year I hear you ask. Well keep an eye out and we predict the flavours we think will be popular in 2018!
